Youtube Partnership Confusion...

I'm really sorry guys but I need some advice here my brain is scrambled.

Basically, I'm a standard youtube partner right now and I've monetized one of my videos with adsense which I thought was how everyone did it... I've just been told by someone that I am making a huge mistake and should partner with a network instead.

Having only just learned about networks, a few questions for those experienced in this field please!

1) Should I consider joining a network?
2) If so, how do you base your decision for which network?
3) Do you earn more money from networks?
4) How long does it take to partner with a network?
5) Would I need to un-partner with YouTube before applying to a network?
6) Are there any other benefits that I should know about?

Reina could you move this thread please? :)
Well, to answer your questions!
1) Yes, but not until you have grown a bit more, as the benefits don't really come unless you are bigger.
2) You contact different networks and see which contract provides the most benefit to you.
3) It depends on your contract, if you get a good split and CPM(Cost Per Mille) then you could.
4) Once again it depends on your personal situation and the requirements set my the network to get in.
5) Well, not that I know of, you just apply for partnership with a network and if you get accepted you'll become a network partner.
6) Well, obviously you get paid, you get access to their partner forums for advice, collabs etc., you get a support team if you are bigger, can sometimes get lucky and get promotion, and have a bit of protection from legal issues.

Well, in less you are someone like smosh or RWJ, monetization can be a bit risky.

Why? Because if you get click bombed (someone purposely clicks on all your adverts to get you into trouble) Google will try to make out it was you and ban you for life.

Networks have that protection against clickbombing. They also offer partnership banners (until June when it is for everyone), custom thumbnails, shows and all the other additional features youtube offers.

Some networks offer a dashboard and free music.

But however, this does come at a cost and you will need to pay the network 30/40% out of your earnings.

Hope this helped.

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply.

And sorry if this is the wrong forum :/

When you say that I need to get bigger, how big should you be realistically before applying?[DOUBLEPOST=1368737122,1368736936][/DOUBLEPOST]I see.. I get custom thumbnails and I don't need the banner as I use the onechannel theme which has a banner anyway...

It seems the only REAL benefit is the security of being click bombed.. And you have to split revenue earnings with not only Google but now also your network. Hmmm.

Well....you can join a network from as little as 84 views per day, but honestly I'd recommend waiting until at least 10,000 views per day, as up until that you really won't make much money at all, and you'll get no other benefits from it either.

Get a bit more information on Networks, & then apply for one as your channel is over 1000 subs & over many more views, & your videos are great just checked them out by the way :)

Hey,I posted a thread exactly like this in the partnership section of the forum which has all the benefits about partnering with a network. Scroll down a bit and check it out

Check that out!
1) Yes I recommend it
2) Answered in my thread above
3) Networks pay a CPM(cost per mile). So they pay you per every 1000 monetized video views.
4) A typical network probably 1-2 days
5) No you would not.
6) Answered in thread.

Hope this helped :)

Ok well that makes sense. But I read somewhere that network application can take up to 3 months if you have already monetized your videos with adsense, if that's the case surely it's smart to apply now?[DOUBLEPOST=1368737417,1368737304][/DOUBLEPOST]
