YouTube Partner?

I'm not asking because I think im ready for partnership, but id like the info for when I am ready.

So, how do you become a YouTube partner and how well does it pay (if at all)?

all the networks there seem to be for people who make gaming videos or blogs. i do programming and other computer related subjects, what network would you recommend?

Yh I have basically just found out about this whole partner networks thing today and practicallly spent all evening looking at these partnering networks. And yh, alot of those networks are gamer based in that list, but at least a quarter of those in the list, maybe less seem quite flexible with what niche your target is. Socialblade seems quite flexible, with alot of different types of channels.
I'm more curious in the monetization side which are better and can pay better for my channel, I was looking at fullscreen, socialblade and some others. Still not sure if what I am getting from youtube/adsense is considered reasonable/little/or large =S and that is were my problem lies.
