Why do some people hide subscriber count?

Because they feel ashamed of their 1-digit number of subscribers. Those poor souls don't understand that people will hesitate even more to subscribe to a channel that doesn't display the number. They'll find it weird and think twice.

They forget that even PewDiePie started at 0 before reaching 46M plus and counting...

I also do not get the reason. I remember when my counter showed 10 and it was enabled, people keep subscribing despite the number.

I think some people keep their count private until they reach a certain goal. I don't really know....good question.
