who has had sound reflections or echos with a shotgun mic?

I've not encountered that, but my shotgun mic is a pro at picking up background audio. Also looking for a way to reduce. If I can't I'm going to look into a new mic.

Mine always creates reflections from the sound bouncing off the walls and ceiling and back into the mic. VERY ANNOYING
