What's the Likelihood That YouTubing Can Become A Living? And How Long?

It's hard for new channel.There are many videos getting uploaded daily.
So you can't depend only on Youtube. Maybe you can make some bonus money from it but don't only depend on it
 
If you're looking for something to quickly get you out of your situation, it is not likely to happen.
 
Of course, I understand that I can't hit the ground running on YouTube videos alone. I am more than willing to keep my job or one similar to my current part time job, but I aim to phase it out if my aspirations start to succeed. The whole endgame with YouTube as a living is to hopefully segue it into a filmmaking career. It just seems like a cost effective evolution that would allow me to earn income along the way.
 
If you have currently a part time job that allow you to buy the needed equipment and pay all bills during the upcoming months you are more or less ready to conquer the world since there is honestly nothing that isn`t possible and the only thing that might hold you back could be your creativity.

Making some extra cash and making a living to pay the rent and such are two different things.
