What's the Likelihood That YouTubing Can Become A Living? And How Long?

I am aiming to make Youtube vlogging/filming/reviewing/gaming (maybe) coupled with freelancing and blogging elsewhere on the web, my full time profession. I plan on uploading everyday, maybe multiple videos per day, on a variety of subjects with a better camera, and possibly syncing the whole thing with my blog and freelance writing aspirations. My half-year goal is to start making a monthly surplus of $500 with such a plan.

Is this possible? Are there any other helpful ideas to make this happen? I really want to go after this because I am so sick and tired of living with my dad and running errands with (and mainly for) my sister. I am about fed up with the traditional job search and I want to move out now.
 
There are some that can make a living of Youtube, but it's tough, like really tough.
You'd have get quite a lot of views to support yourself with Youtube.
 
I don't think you should aim for doing Youtube for a living. That's just my own opinion. I make videos because I enjoy playing video games. xD
 
I think it's great as a hobby and if you earn an money of it that's a bonus! Like the others said it's tough and I enjoy it more. My friend said if he doesn't know what he wants to be when he's older he will do YouTube as a job. The thing is he doesn't realise how tough it is to 1. get noticed 2, retain a fan base and get consistent amount of views. 3. How much time it takes to film,edit and produce content that is good enough. I don't produce amazing content and not good quality and my videos aren't too long. It still takes me forever. If you want to do it as a job and to support yourself good luck!:).

Hmm... I guess it is possible, but very unlikely that it'd be able to make you a comfortable living. YouTube should be more about doing it for the fun. The money is just a cool extra that comes along with it. XD

Its not a good idea you should try to make a living of youtube videos. But dont let that stop you from making videos. If you end up having success, good for you but dont bet all your chips on it. ! hour of youtube footage is uploaded every second so getting notices these days is very difficul
 
People say you shouldn't really aim for Youtube being your full time job you should just do it as a hobby. I mean aim high but if the time comes for you then it comes but until then just work hard. But many people do have Youtube as their full time job.
