what stage would you call yourself a youtuber?

Sunsbookishgamesx

I Love YTtalk
I was wondering this today does your subscriber count make you a youtuber... i have over 2k atm and I wouldn't call myself a youtuber I feel people might make fun of me or something?

Are we all classed as youtubers? Or do you think you have to wait till you have a certain sub count to tell people publicly I am a youtuber?

What do you guys think?

I'm totally with you, I'm a little over 2k now too and wouldn't call myself one... yet. :)

I'd probably be comfortable with that label around 100k.

I'd not call myself one until the earnings are worth mentioning.

"So you're a Youtuber?"
"Yes I am"
"How much do you earn from being one?"
"Uh, over ten dollars a month?"

The face when you spend so much effort for a measly figure.

I'd consider myself one. I make content for the site on a regular basis, so I don't see why not.

If people feel that the "Youtuber" moniker only comes about at a certain sub count or income level, that's fine as well.

If you make content on a regular basis I would consider you a YouTuber. I probably wouldn't go around telling people I'm a YouTuber until I have at least 50k though, just because I am the same way, I would feel like people would make fun of me until I had a decent following to prove it.

This thread pops up pretty often, and people always drop the
"If you're making videos, you're a youtuber"
That's fine. But I wouldn't say it personally until I was making an income from it.
Until then it's just a hobby, so I would say, "I make YouTube videos".

If Basketball is your hobby, you say "I play basketball". If basketball is your career, you say "I'm a basketball player"

Just my personal opinion. I don't think it really matters. call yourself what you want. 'Princess Emperor Care Bear' is another option.

That's not a bad logic chain you have there. Thanks for the insight!

I agree with you.....regular content make a professional YouTuber.
