I'm not really sure, 320x240 possibly.

Most people use 1280px x 720px, it is what I use myself, you can use other sizes but this size works just fine.

16:9 aspect ratio, the higher resolution the better.

So, to make a custom 16:9 image you find out the pixel width of your image, and divide it by 16. Then take that answer and multiply by 9 to get the appropriate height. 1280(the height) / 16 = 80 then 80 * 9 = 720 (height)
