What is the benefit of long videos?

Even if they did have higher CPM's (video length does effect your CPM) , that will be counter balanced by the fact 2 videos would = near twice as many views therefore your CPM would have to = double to make up for that, that's without even mentioning that audience retention effects your CPM and 2 shorter videos will most likely have a higher retention.

Well I'm gonna start doing Let's plays, I thought 15-20 minutes per episode would be optimal.
