1. Monetization puts adds on your videos, money is shared by the channel and YouTube.
2. People like money, for small channels even a small amount can be reinvested into better content for further growth.
3. It's rumored that monetization is good for the search algorythm. Ultimately it (hypothetically) could get monetized videos more views.
