Watermarking?

Does anyone have any general tips and tricks for creating an effect watermark? Dimensions? Software used? I've been struggling to create an effective watermark and would love to get some information from some pro watermarkers. Watermarker should definitely be a word...

Just use whatever image you like and turn the opacity down. I use Adobe Premiere to add the watermark, and Photoshop to make the watermark itself.

You can also create something in photoshop on a transparent png layer. Import it into premiere and turn the opacity down.

put it at around 55% opacity, not too eye catching as it's just a watermark

Thanks everyone! I'll give those tips a shot and see if I can get something I like out of it. Been looking at a few options and I just can't decide if I'm gonna pull the trigger on a watermark yet.
