Watch Time vs YT RED Watch Time

Well that might be a good thing cause it can give us smaller youtubers a better chance, like if you for example look into the gaming market its completely impossible to get in unless you have a very good ability to differentiate ;)

But besides the youtube red the watch time is also what determines how you are being ranked, I read that some where that youtube will increase the view time on their site so users stays longer :)

I was thinking how about the total views on your channel that must play a role in ranking of your channel as well or is it mostly the subscribers that determines that I mean they aren't everything if you have been passive and they are dead when you come back :p

To be honest, I'm not sure about the ranking system or if there is one so i can't speak for that. Perhaps i should google into that during daylight hours and get back to you on that. But if someone makes a video that's long and viewers only stick around for like two minutes, it makes sense that the two minutes is counted up rather than the views. But then again the whole subscription thing is so new Dx i dont think they will rank you but take a percentage of total watch time amongst yours and other people's videos that have had YouTube red users viewing and divide the income stream accordingly. Views are deceptive Dx and it's not very smart to be like giving someone who has like 500 views for a 1minute video compared to someone who has 500 on a five minute video. Then again I'm not google or YouTube so i wouldn't know what their ideas area on thus

I have a video ranked nr. 1 in search results and its only on 1:27 minutes so I dont quite agree with you on that :)
Its just something I heard other youtubers talking about but then again I have 2 videos, one that has a length of 2:45 min. and average view time is 2:22 min. which docent get many views but then I have one on 4:00 minutes which has an average view time of only 1:30 and it gets way more views so based on that I can questioning if they are right about that. I think it depends on the video topic and how attractive it is based on search volume and competition :thumbsup2:

I think its everything that counts regarding the amount of views, view time, likes and most importantly the SEO which I have already optimized all my videos for so that shouldn't be a problem :) But I agree with you that it docent always feels like they have a ranking system :p
 
XD you're so knowledgeable, you should be teaching me stuff about YouTube!! I don't even know what you mean about optimisation ahaha

Trust me there is definitely many other things I dont know about youtube but I have been doing it for around a year so I learn as I get further into it but I have no problem sharing my knowledge with you :)

Then you can perhaps share your knowledge about that website of yours?
Cause I am considering getting one my self so I can get more viewers and hopefully subscribers :D
 
Dx I'm so inconsistent about my blog. It's very simple though, you just ripe and submit and it had all the layouts there for you. Can't fail uni Dx

I see you have used wordpress I am actually considering taking a course in how to setup a website using wordpress you learn a lot about SEO as well. Is it easy to setup?

Once installed, Wordpress is very easy to setup and configure. Depending on your web host, doing the install can be either very simple or a bit complicated and technical.
