VOTM February 2013 Voting!

Devil's advocate:
Do you think we can prevent moderators from being in the VOTM?
If the moderators are choosing who gets on the voting ballot, it seems kind of unfair because they all know each other better than they know most of the non-moderators. Even if they aren't consciously being biased, there is still that possibility of being impartial.
A lot of competitions/voting exercises actually employ this rule.

The moderators that entered have nothing to do with who gets in to the voting round and while i do see where you are coming from We also have to Take in to Consideration that The moderators ARE Members of the forum and yttalkers just like the rest of us so they should get an equal opportunity to enter. but if any one of us Mods decide to enter those mods will have nothing to with VOTM other then entering

thanks for clearing that up in this thread. I, and a lot of other users, were NOT aware of that. I am referring to the forum VOTM guidelines.
This was a heated debate in another thread and Michael already cleared it up. Michael himself had to step in and detail the process because most people have no idea what the process is like.
I suggested amending the forum rules/guidelines to reflect this because not everyone is going to see this post or thread, and as of now, those guidelines are really vague. It just says "staff" have a hand in casting the ballot.
Also, I never said they weren't part of the community. I just wanted to bring attention to the possibility of bias in this situation.
I have also already sent Michael a PM about this.

Wow. It looks like each month, there's multiple videos in the final round that are just screen captures of someone playing video games. I've got nothing against video games, but you'd think a video of someone making a bologna sandwich for lunch would have more merit as VOTM. It would show someone doing something and there might be some intrigue and drama regarding what all they put in the sandwich. Could someone please enter a video of themselves slapping some bologna and ketchup between two pieces of wonder bread and eating it (wash it down with a rye and coke) for next month?

For all the people that put some time and effort into making a video for this, trying to have some fun and maybe get a little exposure for their channel, it's too bad that there's a few less spots available in the final videos because there's screen captures (of any kind) in there.
