I would rather have us lose some traffic than attract people who dont contribute to the community at all which is this websites purpose

I noticed the people that are upset about this usually have less then 100 posts. That's the point. We want those people to be more active in the community before they promote. Plus getting to know everybody will for sure help your chances of getting noticed by the community here.
