[Tip] Factors to Growing Your Channel

The Sauce
Hello there!
Do you want to get a start on growing your channel like never before?

If you follow these steps, there's a good chance you will bring yourself success.

  • Have amazing branding/thumbnails. There are other tutorials in the Strategies & Technique Advice forums as well as the Branding and Channel Design forums that will help in guiding you. I just can't link them, as I am not VIP (One day, one day).
  • Have a signature set of words in your videos. Like for me, it just happens to be 'Hey guys, Joel here from InstantGamerSauce'. These words (along with your branding and thumbnails) will give you more of an individual identity that will set you apart from most other YouTubers.
  • When making videos, always make sure they are high quality, contain good content, and if you are a gamer; make sure you are exciting to the viewers!
  • Don't false advertise/false tag your videos; this could get your channel shut down for good.
  • Network yourself out; find other YouTubers around the same size as you, or bigger, and collaborate with them! Make sure they share your values of high quality and exciting content, otherwise it is not worth recording with them/networking with them. Networking also includes putting each other in your sub-boxes, which will grow both of you.
  • Take time to edit your videos and perfect them; If you don't take the time to edit your videos, then what makes you think someone is going to take the time to watch them? Put some effort in, and you will get rewarded.
  • Be constantly communicating with your viewers/subscribers; Do all that you can to always be talking to your fans. Those amazing people deserve your communication, because they are the ones that will kickstart you to success.
  • Don't get down on yourself when you feel like people aren't watching your videos. Just take a look at your content, your channel, and anything that might be a turn off, and try to fix it. Make your channel appealing, and people will flock to you like ducks on bread!
  • Do not post copyrighted content or use copyrighted music, otherwise you will get a copyright claim or strike, and you could get your channel shut down.
  • Set goals for your channel, and work hard to achieve them. Never give up on your channel or yourself.
  • Make the titles of your videos seem exciting yet relevant, and the tags of your videos must be relevant and consistent throughout your videos. Setting video defaults on your channel is a good start. You should also have a consistent description in each and every one of your videos. This makes more of your videos appear beside the video that people were originally watching, and that will make people want to watch more of your content.
  • Post on forums like this one! A lot of YouTube forums will allow you to post your videos in designated areas.... and you should take advantage of that (make sure you aren't spamming and that you are following the rules of each forum you post on, though).
  • Be active on forums; Not only can you post videos, but you can post other things that will make people know you better, and they may even come and check out your channel!
  • Use Social Media; Using Social Media like Twitter and Facebook are good starts to developing a fanbase. You can connect with your fans quicker than ever before! YouTube also allows you to automatically send a message out each time you publish a video. Be as active as you can on Social Media, too. Don't just have it for the sake of having it, know what I'm saying?
  • Engross yourself in recent trends; Make yourself fully aware and involved in some recent trends. Times change, and you should adapt your channel to change with them! Don't, however, go too far out of your comfort zone. Some things that are happening today may not be something you are comfortable doing or talking about, which is perfectly okay.
  • Don't be fake, don't do YouTube for the money; If you are only doing YouTube for the money, you are doing it for all the wrong reasons. If you love YouTube and making videos, then the money will come to you if you wait it out and work hard. Quality is what you should worry about on your channel, not the money you earn. Make the content that YOU ENJOY MAKING!
And that's it!
