Thumbnail and channel art file size too big

Anytime I finish a thumbnail and channel art in Photoshop the file size (jpg) always seems to be 15-20 mb . Does anyone know how to export them as a smaller file size ?

Do you use Save for web and devices, and choose JPEG there?
That should lower the file size quite a bit.

If you drop the qualifying meter from 12 to 9 or 8 it should shrink the size and the drop in quality won’t be noticeable

Look into canva.com. They have templates for thumbnail sizes.

images need to size to a specific pixel size. MB has nothing to do with it.

Usually what I do is edit my stuff in Photoshop and then bring it to Canva.com and they have templates for YT channel art.

Canva is the best site I know for channel art, youtube thumbnails, etc.. and it's totally free

I know the thumbnail size I use is 1280x 720. You also google thumbnail templates that should help you a little bit.

If you're using photoshop, always save in .jpeg / .jpg and make sure to lower the quality a bit if the size is too big, the difference is not big if you lower it a bit and it also shows you how many mb it will save with I use it on my thumbnails too!
