I Love YTtalk
In March, I did a review of the Gorilla Attack track set. I made a mistake with assembly, a viewer pointed it out, so I did a follow-up video and gave him a shout-out. I gave shout-outs in the original video as well.

It is not a new set so it's not like people are searching for information on the set. For the most part, the thumbnail is the deciding factor whether people click on it or not.

121K views, YouTube Suggested Video 49,403 (55%)
3:43 (47%) Average View Duration (7:54 minute video)

It was fun staging the follow-up thumbnail to resemble King Kong on a track skyscraper =)

Or, maybe the success is just because I had Red Bird in the pic LOL

While YouTube gives us the data for how many views came from recommended videos, it would be interesting to know how often the video showed up as a recommended video.

The thumbnail on the follow-up video looks awesome, that could be one of the reasons why you got more views. Who knows what else helped you on that video.

I am a strong believer that a good thumbnail is the difference from being a good video with mediocre views to a good video with high views! I like your thumbs and its obvious the traffic is going your way as a result :D

I'm so bad at doing thumbnails and I'm sure that's one of the many reasons why people don't click on my videos. Thumbnails are the face of the video before it's actually played.

Thumbnails make or break whether the person searching wants to see the video or not.

Check out my reaction video to Tre Melvin coming out as Bisexual compared to the other videos. I got 2x more views than the other channels because I had a photo thumbnail of him and not of me, lol.

Great job, that's exactly why I should stop putting myself in the thumbnails. Lol! Only until you are known it's when your face sells!

VideoLC lets you do a thumbnail a and b test to see which one will get more views. I've changes my thumbnails to close up face shots based on the data I got and my views are way up!
