Being partnered at such a small size doesn't benefit you in anyway. Most features that partnership offers now (custom banner etc.) are being removed due to OneChannel, also any other features like custom thumbnails can be received just by enabling monetization. You don't want to lock yourself in a bad network which doesn't benefit you, like this one or AwesomenessTV, they won't help you in anyway. Compared to if you are a larger channel lets say, which will more likely focus on you and offer you a better deal.
I guess that is true. I am still very novice at this still but as a person doing game videos I know how hard it can be to monetize. I guess this network will help you with that. But it's not like it's a big issue in the beginning.
When it all boils down this is just a way of Smosh marketing themselves.
