Third Party Content songs

Youtube only lets you monetize covers that are third party content, but as far as I know, there's no way of telling which songs are or aren't eligible until you post them. Does anyone know of a list or a few examples of songs that meet this criteria?

I know some one direction songs apply, but then I know someone who got a copyright strike for covering Diana.

Is there a way of knowing which songs you can use ahead of time?

Yeah I got a copyright strike for covering You and I Ingrid Michelson. But I don't think its which songs are allowed, its probably how close the cover is to the original. I'm pretty sure there is no list
