I know this is a very broad question, but what's your best guess on how many views per month I need to make $3K per month with adsense?


I have about 7000 subscribers (constantly growing, slowly) and I get about 40K views per month. I'm not making enough from adsense to make a living though, not even close. (I barely make anything). I'm spending more time and money on making my videos than I'm earning from them. I get some itunes sales, but again, not enough to go full time.


Is there anyone on this forum that is doing this full time that can offer me some insight? I want to know (or at least be able to estimate) how much further I need to go to reach my goal of making a living on youtube.

That's like top YouTube money you're talking about man. You would have to be pretty popular to pull that off in a month. To say the least you are FAR away from bringing in that kinda money. But you seem to be on your way at least.

ok, in our (little bit under a year) monetized through adsense, we are making about $1.65/1000 views. We get a CTR of about 3-3.5% on average. So doing the math, to make 3000 dollars if you were going generally at our pace... it would take
$3000/1,818,181 views which is a lot of views! :p

So yeah for us at that pace, it would take a while!

I believe that you are pretty close to it with your guess. Something between 2,0 to 2,5 millions monetizable views would end with an Paycheck of $3000 from Adsense.

It`s hard to predict in the end how much is needed in the longer run since there are a lot of different things that have to work out with Adsense to generate that much income but if we both didn`t totally screwed it up by forgetting something important we might be on the right trace.
 
here ill post some stats from one of my adsense accounts.. I would say you need about 2-3 million views with adsense... With 50,000 views a day on that channel i make about 50 bucks a day.. sometimes more sometimes less
1,161,655 Views
2,823 Ad Clicks
Total Dollars made $1,360.45
 
Heres what I made of almost 5 million views.. I just took a snap shot so you can get an idea.. of what you will need to do to make some money
