Personally, I think its a good idea. While Im no good at writing lyrics, I might be a good singer. I've yet to reveal it others. But, depending on the song you're trying to do a parody of, I can probably sing it.

I would be happy to help but for one, it sounds like you're only looking for men and if so please specify. Two, this all seems too good to be true. Itunes doesn't let just anything into their library. I'm hoping if you continue this project you do some research. If you would like my help, email me here: michelleatredlips@gmail.com

you do realize that the music industry doesn't allow parodies? They actually consider them a derivative work. Just go to BMI website and read about it. It's no longer fair use

Why????? its about music!
But you are trying to collaborate, if you still need one, I will write for you.[DOUBLEPOST=1420422263,1420422110][/DOUBLEPOST]

OMG, really, what if you perform the song yourself, like an acoustic cover, because they can't really dictate whats a parody because millions of songs sound the same?

The music industry can dictate anything. If they find your version they can take it down. A very popular case talked about by "Weird Al" Yankovic who always gets permission said that he wanted to make a parody of Let It Go from Frozen called Make it So but someone on YouTube already did it and Disney took it down and didn't want "Weird Al" doing it either. A parody is very confusing. If you change a song into a different topic but don't talk about the song you are creating a satire not a parody. A parody is when you comment or critique the original song. YouTube itself doesn't allow parody's because the license deals they pay for are strictly covers with the same words. I've been told this by several music publishers.

A parody is often done anyway and very few get caught but the fact of the matter is people have gotten caught and get sued for it. A good case is Beastie Boys management sued a commercial creator for parodying one of their songs and the lawsuit is still in court and it's been a whole year. I personally wouldn't create parody without getting permission. I always get permission from the original artists/publishers/writers.

There is an argument that a parody is considered derivative because any idea that you derive from can be a parody.

For example you take a book I wrote and use the same characters but spoof on them. You have theoretically used my idea to create a new idea. The internet has made fair use even more confusing. YouTube lets you dispute content as fair use but it's not up to youtube to decide if your content is fair use it's up the original owners. So anytime anyone disputes a song parody as fair use the original owners are looking at it.
