"Shows" Feature under Video Manager

Hey guys,

I just saw this for the first time:

How the heck does this work? I've never used shows and a quick search for video tutorials on it came up with nothing (because its hard to search for youtube shows and get this).

Any insight here, its new to me!

First time I'm seeing this. I'm guessing it makes a type of playlist? A very detailed playlist.
 
Yeah like, it seems like you can make seasons and stuff as if its a TV Show?

Seems cool, it wasn't there yesterday, or earlier today even. I wonder if my normal "shows" can be listed here?

I've been wanting to make a TV Guide style layout for my channel, list all my shows, so you know whats coming and stuff. Turn my channel into a tv network type thing (though it would only have certain air times, haha).
 
So I just started creating a test "Show" for my Indie Game Preview series.....it gave it is own unique channel link....with its own banner and avatar link.....so this is like YouTube channel shows maybe? Similar to like, the ones that aren't really channels, but they are in a way?

This was the link to the "show" I created, I hope its okay to post. I have no idea what I'm doing here just yet, lol (when it comes to this "show" thing I mean).

The test show I created is now deleted, just until I can spend more time figuring things out tomorrow or when this post is replied to lol.
 
Any links to statements saying it's going to be removed? I'll not put effort into it if so.
 
I think it's basically meant to organize shows that have seasons on YouTube. It gives them their own space aside from your channel. If you have a series with a story that spans a long time, through multiple seasons, you don't want to take up your whole channel space with all the playlists for each season, so this is a way of doing that. You could however still display the playlist for the lastest season though.

It's pretty easy to tell what the best use for Shows is just judging by the fields available. Series such as Chad Vader or any other TV show would make good use of the Shows feature. Other long running series type things with no story\season separation are better off in a good old Official Series Playlist I think. I have no use for shows really myself, and I don't have access to the feature yet so it doesn't make much difference for me.
