Should I delete the video that got me 45K views and 857 subscribers?

I'm now going to be making personal finance videos on the channel, but was wondering if I should delete the old video since it's not directly related?
My previous post was based on this quoted part. If you feel like the new content might be similar enough to your other videos, or might attract the same people, by all means, have at it!

You do have a point. However, I don't get the impression OP is looking at it from a purely numerical/statistical perspective. In fact, I still think he came here looking for someone to tell him "DON'T delete the channel". If he proposed the idea of making scientific experimentation videos, I'd most likely tell him to start a new channel too. I just think "how to be successful" and "how to make money/handle finances" are close enough to appeal to similar audiences.
This is just my opinion, which is partially based on my own experience too. I've had a few brief stints in the "make money online" niche back in 2010-2012. I took a shot at "build an email list and then make money online by selling people products teaching them how to make money online" scheme. It worked for a while, but it just felt too dirty and sleazy doing that, so I ultimately stopped.

@TheWealthProject Good luck!

My aim is to make personal finance videos that actually give people value with real, tangible advice. I got my degree in Finance in college so it's not like I'm just pulling a channel topic out of thin air or anything. I think it can be kind of easy to spot the snake oil salesmen online.

Thanks for your help on this thread, it really got me thinking and helped me flush out the pros and cons. I'm going to keep the video for now and see what happens.

I understand how you felt based on that comment and I appreciate you giving me your honest feedback. At the end of the day we're all just trying to help each other!

I am trying to figure out what possible benefit there would be in deleting the video? Just start making your new ones, and let the old ones stay up. Channels change over time, and people are used to it. You will lose some subs, and gain some subs, no worries. One of my favorite channels used to do just gaming videos (I would never watch those) but now is Disney history - they never deleted any old videos as they changed topics.

I've slowly come to this conclusion as well. Thanks!!
