Script Writing

So i was wondering what some your scripts actually look like. Are they word for word or are they just more of ideas and winging it from there?

It depends what kind of script you're writing. If you're writing to record yourself then basically mine tend to be messes only I can understand, featuring little notes with ideas for shots & nuances etc.

Do you use Celtx?

I've been not-scripting, recently, as it's getting to be a bit too confining, but I did for months.

Typically they looked like poetry - broken up into four-ish line stanzas, so I'd know what I'd want to get in between cuts.

When I do a collab though, I use Celtx and write up a formal script.

I just do it in a manuscript format with Google Drive.

So I break down scenes, stage directions, camera directions and lines of script per character.

I haven't done much story boarding yet, my videos are only 2-3 minutes so I can do it in my head.
