Quick question about meme thumbnail.

Guys, I have a new question for you. right now I'm editing a video and I'm going to put a bird image from google search. will I be able to monetize this? also note that I'll probably put the bird image on the thumbnail. help guys ASAP. thank you

Hey guys, maybe a dumb question here but I'm going to ask it. so I'm going to make a thumbnail that will include a meme, probably the troll face guy and I just want to ask if this is safe for monetization and copyrights, note that ONLY thumbnail will have the troll face. rest of the video will not have any meme.

I would think it's safe. I'm not sure though. But wouldn't the trollface meme be just another picture from google image search? Because in that case, I do it all the time and have never been in trouble for it. I get all my thumbnail material from google images usually and my channel's okay.

Pictures i think are copyrighted, but you can still use them for your thumbnails Music is a different story….

Yes I do it all the time for my thumbnails , everyone does it. Don't worry, just don't put a thumbnail that's against YT terms of service & you'll be ok

so many people use the meme faces in pictures, thumbnails and videos I would be surprised if they where copyrighted.. I pretty sure they're just free to use and do what you want with. Otherwise we wouldn't have all the weird and wonderful meme pictures plus a lot of meme faces are based on famous people anyways :')

Ah you'll be okay for the thumbnail. Many, many videos include Memes (I know Pewds and Markiplier have used them without any prior permission to my knowledge). I believe they fall under fair use (since they're not yours, but they're not actually copyrighted by the original creator), just perhaps throw in that you don't own it or something?
