Promoting small content ?

Where are some of the places that you guys promote your channel / videos when you were starting out ?

I've learned Facebook and twitter are good and to take advantage of hashtags.
 
twitter and facebook are a good start and depending on what your videos are about you could try looking up forums relating to that content and posting on there

Yeah I've thought about that. But since my content will vary I'll be going to different forums relating to the video I post that week
