Pre-edit the audio?

I Love YTtalk
I've always edited the audio and video of my videos alongside each other. However, recently I've been trying out editing the audio first, then going up and editing the video to match it. It actually seems to be a pretty decent system of working.
What do you all think?

I record all of my audio separately with Audacity, save it and integrate it with video in Sony Vegas. Of course, this only works if you script your videos but it's a lot easier for me to produce semi-pro sound that way.

That's what I do. But do you edit the audio alongside the video, or edit the audio first?

I arrange the clips in the rough narrative that I want. Then write the script, import it into premiere, then edit the video to fit it.
