Portable Audio Recording

So, presently I am using a couple of dynamic Blue mics and a Presonus Studio 24c to record audio. This is not practical for field recording. So, I recently got a cheap lapel mic.
What do you all use to record the audio? Any recommendations for cheap portable recorders? Does anyone use their phone instead and if so, what apps would you recommend?
I'm really stumped.
