'Professional' thumbnails don't come from knowing which buttons to press in Photoshop unfortunately, they come from a combination of being able to use a graphic design program and design skills or education.
That said, there are thousands of tutorials on YT on how to use the various aspects of Photoshop, it just depends what you want to do?
