I don't buy this at all. I think being shown higher up in the search results has everything to do with how you tag, title and describe the video along with but not limited to the amount of ratings and views you get from the time the video was uploaded.
Now having said that, If the video is showing a higher paid advert then I assume youtube will show that video higher up in the search results and by being partnered with a network the ads shown are somewhat higher paying ads thus higher placement for the video.
