Only earned 5$ in a half year! Any tips?

The only unticked ads on mine are the unskippable ones. Then everything is skippable.

I don't think there are any tips for earning money on adds, they click on them, you get the money. There's no way in trying to get that to happen, I mean you can't exactly ask for them to click it. That's why bigger channels earn more because they have more people in the ratio of people who click on the ads. So, if there's any tips...grow a bigger channel :)

Not actually true, but optimizing for ad rev is complicated and for most people not the right thing to do.

To the OP - most Google/YT ad buys (where the advertisers put in orders for ads that show up on videos) are made by American companies only interested in American audiences because that's where they sell their products. It doesn't mean there aren't advertisers in other countries or that international views aren't monetized, but it does mean that the higher the % of views you have from inside the US the more revenue you're likely to earn. Optimizing your channel for US audiences can definitely help.

Oh. I make Danish videos. Denmark is a country with very High taxes. You have to pay 50% of what you earn.

View Tips: Upload on a schedule and stick with it, Rome wasn't build in a day!

Build up and use social media sites, (twitter, facebook, google+) to get your videos out to the masses Be careful not to just share your own content though as sharing others content is a great way to attract a new audience. Later you can introduce your own content more.

Content is key, so figure out what you enjoy making as well as what others currently like on YouTube and stick with it! Stay with a content type for around 3-4 months check your YouTube analytics to see how it’s working out.

Lastly, be a part of the community by doing collabs and asking/answering questions from and to your audience. Treating your viewers as friends, not numbers, only makes them feel welcomed and more likely to come back :)

Google offer a free YouTube Playbook with their suggestions on how to grow. It’s worth reading through a few times.

Another thing you may want to check out is the Social Blade YouTube Tips playlist on their channel.

Hope this helps!
