New To After Effects

So I'm learning about After Effects (I know where have I been?!)

Is there anyone out there with a bit of advice for it just to make it that little easier :)

Thank you :D

There are a lot of tips online (especially YouTube). That's how I learned how to use it. Learn the basics (keyframing, solids, compostion size, exporting) and the rest it pretty easy.

I would check out http://www.videocopilot.net/. They have all types of tutorials and templates you can use.

Ahh my friend also suggested that hehe

I was just wondering if there is anything obvious I should know about it haha

Thank you =D

No problem. Once you get the hang of it, you'll be surprised on what you can accomplish with the software. :)

Haha I do hope so! Never had a problem with stuff before, usually pick it up rather fast so hopefully this won't be any different :)

When you set a keyframe, you can click the "gem button" inbetween the two arrows under the layer name to place a keyframe without changing a value.

It may seem impossible to understand atm but I may have saved you a night of sleep :D

Aetutsplus use it.. thats were i learned the majority of my AE work.. also creativecow.net video copiolit.. youtube.. vimeo.. redgiant tv.

I love doing VFX within AE, I use it in every video I've done almost haha

Some great sites I've come across are:

AEtutsplus
creative cow (their after effects section)
motionworks

And then just searching on YouTube and on Vimeo for "After Effects Tutorials"

(sorry I'm not currently able to link the websites because I've not posted enough, so you'll just have to google them)
