At first I was wondering who is this new person that knows all the questions to everything, then I read under your picture and was like....OOHHHH. It's a very nice picture of you. :)
 
I see you switched back to the black and white one for YouTube, it certainly does have a more stylized appearance to it, as opposed to just being a sort of headshot. I agree that this one seems more fitting for personal use like forums or messaging programs or something. Your YouTube avatar should be seen as more of a logo or persona.
