I like it .... seeing this has inspired me to make my own background as at the moment still got the YouTube defult as i am hardcore like that.

Are you using Photoshop? If so, go to the fox and banjo kazooie images and go to Layer-->Matting(its at the bottom)-->Remove White Matte.
then if the white outline is still there, go to Layer-->Matting-->Defringe. Make it 1 or 2 px.
