Monetizing videos before AdSense account is confirmed?

Hello,

I opened an AdSense account but haven't yet go through the process of confirmation. I just got some password via SMS. I would like to monetize videos and just wait untill I have a confirmed account for payments but don't want for the videos to go non monetized before I get that PIN... I'm form the EU - Slovenia and a friend of mine waited 3 months for that PIN to arrive. I just got some password via SMS... Can I monetize videos now - before my AdSense is confirmed - before that PIN arrives?

Any information would be much appreciated...

My friend actually established his AdSense account for a web page (2 years ago) and not for a YouTube channel. Does anyone know if the fact that the application involves a YouTube channel and not a website influences the speed of the review process?
How long did it take for your account to get confirmed?
 
You got to apply for youtube, even though you have established it for a website.
For me, I don´t remember, I got it quickly go!
