Maker Studios!

Thank you guys for all the helpful comments. I do understand what some of you are saying. I may be getting a little bit too excited. It's just that I really want to be prepared with as much knowledge as I can get. I will be definitely discussing all of your advice and tips to everyone in IAMYT! So, with that I think I should start making these videos huh? We aren't a skilled bunch. 4 guys with no experience in Youtube whatsoever. Diving in to filming and having people watch, give feedback, troll - it's a scary thing. But I feel as if this is a good step for is to take.

Just one last question! Do copyright strikes happen only when you MONETIZE a video with content that you don't own (Such as Games, Music, etc.)? If not is there a way for me to counter act this? We really want to post gaming on our channel.

That seems highly counter-intuitive. In that case, would you have any advice on how to avoid copyright strikes when you're uploading gameplay?

In the description, quote which part of Fair Use allows you to upload that video. If you can prove that you are allowed to upload the video under Fair Use, they can't really get you. Also, it's highly unlikely that you'll get a copyright strike for gameplay. YouTube doesn't really check small channels unless they start trying to monetize their videos.

Lets say I monetize one of my music videos but, I still have gameplay on my channel- am I still at risk?

Individual monetized videos are the ones at risk. If it isn't monetized, YouTube probably won't see it, and any company with a copyright on anything in your video is less likely to care.
