Machinima on the edge of Liquidation....

Networks and GFX Expert :)
So I`ve been hearing alot of rumours lately that Machinima is a few months from going bankrupt.

Well the concrete facts we have are :
1) Machinima wasn`t doing overly well in the first place , they layed off staff in November and then went through pay-cuts and we know that Machinima Prime has made a loss of about 13M over its first year.

2) Over the last 2 months Machinima has dropped From 3.2M views Monthly to 1.6m views monthly that is a bit over 50%, so if they wern`t coping so well before how must they be coping now that their revenue has been halved while they have gained about 300 more partners than they lost (more expenses), so I`d say they would be facing bankruptcy...

Any opinions on this?

Me personally I used to love Machinima, they were the big network from YouTube , had all the great gamers, Machinima Respawn thrived getting 400-600k views a video twice daily... But in the last year or 2 they have really taken a turn for the worst and I`ve heard alot of bad things from partners.
That doesn`t mean I want them to fail though, It would be good for Vultra obviously but not good to lose such a great company which has a quite a big impact on YouTube and gamers.
I can safely say though , I can see more paycuts happening...

I don't think Machinima has a good model, they rely on their name to get people in but scare many away with their terrible contracts that trap smaller channels and try to screw them over.will they collapse? probably not, but they need to get their act together and get more new blood in.

Machinima has been something to aspire to join, but from their recent image, I don't doubt that they could be on their way out of YT land.

You've Been Hit By
You've Been Hit By Machinima....

I watched alot of machinima videos when I was younger, but not anymore.

I imagine that if Machinima ever does anything it might maybe be stopping paying lots of money and creating content and short films and focusing more on managing a network..
Dunno, just an idea

people make mistakes, get to high and mighty in there booties and life goes on. Don't really know how machinima came to be like it is now but it will slump back in to the webs and something may come along to replace it. dis gon be good.

As far as I know from working a bit in Insolvency, when a company is declared bankrupt by a Judge they must declare it in a newspaper or on some other form of public media deemed suitable by the Court. Could be different in the US, but I am not 100% sure. So if they do, you'll certainly find out. They haven't been doing well though.

Too bad man :( I always looked up to those guys :'( I also heard so many rumors l;ately :( Well live goes on XDDD But whats the number one gaming network then? IGN? TGN?
