What Makes a Banner Stand Out?

Here's a couple im working on now. Not sure which one ill go with and they still need some small added details (like a slogan under the name).
Which do you like best? Im a gaming channel with the name CaptainSauce. My intro is an animated superhero entrance of the tomato based hero himself which you can see in the 2nd banner.

I like the bottom one better, its more creative and stands out.
anyhow here is my finished banner, not great but good enough I suppose (at least its colorful)

Took me forever to decided what I wanted to do for my main channel. This was honestly a beautiful mistake, it wasn't my original vision for the banner.

I liked the first one but that's just me for your slogan I would make it "Is a Bauce" or just use boss.

I feel the lettering is too small and hard to read *at least on this site*

I was going to upload my banner but it says too large :(

It might be this site, it looks pretty clear on the youtube page. Also try "screen capping" your banner and upload it. That way the file size isn't large.[DOUBLEPOST=1419717850][/DOUBLEPOST]This is my current banner for my gaming channel.

I recently started that channel, wasn't sure what I really wanted for this banner so I just went with a simple pixel design.
