Me and my friend just made a parody of Hey Brother. But YouTube say we use copyright content. Therefore the video is not viewable on a phone. But is a parody not legal?
A parody and a cover are different, even if it's a parody cover. Read this, may help you to better understand exactly what the problem is : diymusician.cdbaby.com/2012/03/on-posting-cover-songs-on-youtube-music-licensing-law-explained/
Ive just watched the parody (good work btw) The reason you most likely got a content match is because of the massive instrumental in the song and YT probably pick it up :/
I don't think the singing is the thing that got you a copyright I think it's just the instrumental pieces. Youtube was probably thinking you just stole the whole song when that's not even true. But I guess you can leave it up since it's not really against any copyright rules I know of, but then again I'm just a starter so I might not know this.
