Is gaming on YouTube Dying?

It gets harder and harder for gamers to get famous, as the competition is getting harder and more cutthroat!
Gaming channels hasn´t really died, since some channels like Markiplier and Jacksepticeye, who still does gameplay videos still getting tons of views!

Of course not. I think gaming is one of the easiest ways to start a channel. Anyone can play a game, talk, record and upload it to YouTube. If you are asking if it´s getting harder to grow a gaming channel and get big I would say yes for sure. Do to the fact that pretty much anyone can do it you see billions of these channels and then it gets harder to get noticed

Huge competition, probably hardest genre to crack. I met some kid doing well at it his trick was he picked a niche game and it worked out ok.

I'm thinking of doing a less frequent but large-scope let's play for some of my fav classic game series, Might and Magic 6, 7 and 8... Each of them, being an open world with gazillions sidequests will take god knows how much time. I also have doubts re popularity of such open-ended things as certainly everyone of viewers will have their own preference of how they'd handle things, and most will probably not watch due to mismatch.

It didn’t die, it’s just so many people have gaming channels but that doesn’t mean your channel won’t make it you just have to find a way to stand out from other gamers

It's not dead, it's just really hard to have a successful gaming channel nowadays (wow that made me sound old lmao) because so many people are doing it now! From what I've noticed, a lot of the successful people involved in the gaming community have had their channels for awhile, so honestly that could totally be a major factor regarding this, however the newer channels that get into it just have almost an infectious personality that people love to watch or do something else like stream on Twitch which has their followers there carry over or they just do something special regarding editing and all that!
