Is 480p to low for gaming commentaries?

my system specs are just outdated is all, well except my GPU which is only a year old.

I use bandicam to record. I have tried fraps in the past but there seems to be very little customization to be had with fraps. Bandicam I can set it to all sorts of stuff, and it creates a smaller file so it takes up less space.

Geforce 560Ti
4gigs RAM
Intel core 2duo 2.66ghz
Win7 64bit

The issue is my motherboard/cpu/ram are all outdated by about 5 years or so. Its just time for me to upgrade is all and those are the only parts i need to change out. I will be upgrading to a 8core processor at 4.0ghz with 4.2 turbo. 8 gigs of RAM and a new motherboard.

480p is fine with me, but 720p is better. I just watch 480 because of connection problems, like you said you had. Again, the quality is what matters, 480 and 720 are just numbers. A 480p video can look nicer than a 720p video, and that's just the reality of it. So I say upload in 480p, if it's not blurry, and any dialogue boxes that show up can be read, people won't mind that much.

Hey guys, im in a bit of a pickle. My pc works great on all games when not recording, I can usually run everything on their max settings. But when recording it takes a toll on my hardware. Some games I can record in 720, but some I cannot, in fact most i cant. Im working on getting some new hardware but it might be a little bit, jobs where i am at are scarce and hard to come by, so buying new hardware is taking a bakcseat until then.

So I guess my question is this, Do you dislike videos that arnt in 720 or higher? I have recorded some in 480 and they turned out ok. Me personally, I watch all youtube videos in 360p, because one, my net sucks, and two, it generally looks fine to me. So do you think its bad to upload anything other than hd content?
What software are you using to record ?
Edit: Use DXtory, set the resolution to 1280x720 in the settings, so you might play on whatever ress but it will record in 720p. The file will be 20 gb but it won't hurt performance that much because it doesn't compress it. Ofcourse, you need to edit and render it with Sony Vegas or whatever and the file can become 500 mb. That's how I do it :D
