Instant Monetization for Network Partners Ending

I am likely to be able to get Managed status with my channel (4 million views a month) which apparently means that I should have instant monetization. It is still unlikely that I will stay/re-new.

Still wondering if anyone knows whether or not currently monetized videos, that were instantly monetized while with a network, will stay monetized after the changes, or if they will have to under-go review before their monetization is continued. If anyone knows, please respond! This thread should be stickied tbh, this is a HUGE change for most youtubers.

I'm sure some changes to most current MCN contracts would have to be made, that very clearly explain and state that the person signing the contract is 100% liable for any content strikes that they receive, especially when it means potentially serious legal issues. I know that most contracts currently do cover that, but it would have to be made very very clear from now on in my opinion.

You (you meaning the network) are 100% responsible for ANY video you claim within the YouTube Content Manager therefore all legal proceedings from the copyright holder usually go to the administrator of that CMS account (it is their duty to deactivate infringing uploads & channels from their account). Those kind of clauses in their contracts only protect them against things such as losses and debts so you (the channel owner) can't sue them.

I don't know what to say, is the world going to end alreay. So many things are changing.>.>

As a gamer im so f*****g scared lol >_> But we will see what happens.

No need to. If you have always so far watched out to stay completely legal and in touch with those that you presented Content of on your Channel you will be at no point in danger.

Those Networks/Channels that nowadays are harvesting hundreds of Trailers on their Channels without ever asking anyone for permission will get very soon and very fast in Hell`s Kitchen over the next upcoming Months if they don`t change their behavior very soon.

Those that spent the last couple of Years getting in touch with everyone and spent often days to ask the original Content Creator for permission to put their Content on their Channel or did upload only Content where the Developer/Publisher had granted them permission will probably finally realize that it does pay off to work more then the usual Divas who believe that the World belongs to them and they can act howsoever they want.

Again I am looking really forward to those Chances to see how it will change YouTube hopefully to the better, even if it does mean that some Networks won`t survive the next upcoming six Months.

Got this on Fullscreen Forum.

-Fullscreen will still continue to help us and defend us against copyright strikes as usual, they will just be less penalized before.

-The way they determine if you will become a managed partner or an affiliate will be figuring out if you upload copyrighted content. If you upload NO copyrighted content then you will most likely be a managed partner, but if you upload music, video game footage or whatever you DO NOT own, then you will become an affiliate.

-The monetization process will be a little longer now as we will have to go through the content ID system everytime we upload. This used to be a 48-hour process but they have heard that it will be greatly diminished to a couple hours, which means you will have to private your video for a little bit untill it goes through monetization.

-The problem with going through the content ID system now is that you basically can't upload any music as it could get easily detected, and some video games will now be claimed for 3rd party content because we didn't see that before since we had instant monetization. I think I'm correct on this note but I might not be 100% on everything that I just said in this bullet point.

-These changes will occur on November 18th.

-Previous uploads before November 18th will most likely NOT go back through the monetization process, but they will still continue to be tracked and reviewed for copyright like they have been, so you SHOULD be fine, but as always, take caution (Especially with videos that have music that you DO NOT own)

-Minecraft does not appear in the content ID system and it seems like now that Pokemon (Atleast X and Y) does not appear in the content ID system either so they should be able to monetize easily. (I tested X and Y for monetization on my backup channel that was not partnered but has monetization enabled and it went through within 30min-1hr (This could be different for partners but I don't think it is)) As for other games, I haven't checked as I really only upload those 2 games.

What I read online:

-Affiliates will get a button to make a smoother breakup process between them and the MCN but they might not be able to leave until their contract is up.
