Instant Monetization for Network Partners Ending

I wonder how this is going to affect gaming networks. As far as I know, networks advise their partners to do voice-overs and claim fair-use. If the networks are exposed to the legal/financial risks of litigation, they may make most of their partners Affiliates rather than Managed.

I actually think it's a good thing if it makes channels more accountable for the content they upload. ie It'll make them think twice before uploading copyrighted material.

There have been posts here on this forum where somebody was trying to leave their network since July and they couldn't get a response. Their contract rolled over into a new term. This is something that YouTube can really address.

If YouTube bring this unlink feature for partnered channels, then i see severe competition within MCNs who will offer lucrative advantages to Youtubers like more % of rev share, advertising and all of that.

It won't be that you can just click the link and get out, you'll still be locked to your term, you can just request to get out.
It's still not finalized but maybe the MCN will have to say how long of your term is left and you'll be auto-released after that or something.

Im not with a network anyway - just directly partnered with YouTube and Adsense - so I guess this doesn't affect me?

From an article on Tubefilter:

News broke today that creators will be able to click a link within their YouTube accounts to notify the powers that be at the world’s largest video sharing site they want to be freed from their associated MCN. That click will initiate a documented workflow between the creator and his or her network where the two parties can communicate about the channel’s potential departure. But note, this new feature is not an eject button. The MCN will presumably still have the final say if the channel is free to go. The link will simply start a streamlined process that will hopefully result in more timely and less litigious partings of ways.

I am pretty sure that in less a Year that Button will do exactly what many YouTuber hope it will do. There has been, specially in the last two Years, so much bullshitting from different Networks that actually some even had to be solved in front of a court that I believe that Google had added it to give those MCN a Chance/a specific Time Frame to deal with their current s**t till Date X or the Channel will get released from their Network.

To be more clear:

I am sure that pressing the Button not only will force a Network to get their a** up but also give them a specific Time Frame (Two up to four Weeks) till when a Channel has to be re-signed to their Network (Accepting a new Invite E-Mail on YouTube) or otherwise will leave the Network.

Oh yes, I certainly wouldn't put most gamers, no matter how big on a managed tier, unless they deal only in Minecraft or some other game which the devs/publishers give full permission for monetized videos on.[DOUBLEPOST=1383248817,1383248763][/DOUBLEPOST]

YouTube can only get involved to a certain extent, if a channel is locked in for 2 years then they're locked in for 2 years.

I think yt wants more money lol. before i got partnered i use to try to monetize a lot but nothing worked except stuff like minecraft and it took like a month lol. pretty much you can only monetize minecraft videos now? wtf is youtube thinking. think everyone is just going to move to twitch and hashd. =p
