Joining a network doesn't give you views or subs? It gives you better tools to do so like sounds and stuff but apart from that they do very little

Yeah, but that's not really going to get you views or subs, think of it this way for views, if someone is watching you video and you use music in it you get from you network, it doesn't really matter what music you use, because they have already viewed your video.

I agree that it doesnt give you more viewers or subs. But it gets you into a community and you are able to network with a lot more new people. A bad network can also screw you over a lot.

Correct, but you don't have to be with a network to be a part of a community, I mean, what are we? ;)
