FlipRJ Both, and I'll just watch first couple of minutes

. I don't really like your teal background on your channel. Your shots of the kids should be smooth to flow. Try making a cheap steadicam. This isn't something you could control but some of the acting wasn't that great. The film wasn't at all color corrected as far as I could tell. A little of that can really help. You should really work on your audio. Work to make it flow better between shots. You can hear the scenes cut. Also, you can hear laughter behind the scenes occasionally.
thanks for the critiques. Actually, I've asked a few people to really look at this video and sort of "grade" it (well, analyze like you did) because this was my first really short film, and they're said similar things.
the obvious hiccups (especially in the beginning) were the shaky cam and the laughter. I only had a short amount of time with that large group of people that I couldn't do another take of it. and I wasn't in charge of the camera when the sweeping shots were being filmed (but I do plan on making a steady cam). At this point it seems like I'm placing blame on elements that aren't myself, but I realize that there are a lot of things I could have done better (many of which you pointed out)
You're right, the film wasn't color corrected at all. I had no experience with it at the time and I was faced with a deadline crunch. Out of curiosity, can you point out which parts were particularly bad? I just wanted to know what to look out for. As for the acting, I need to work with my actors better. Some scenes we weren't feeling the shoot, but I needed to force it to meet deadline. As for audio, what do you mean by flow better (like a specific example)? I know the "flashback scene" had audio mistakes, but can you name another instance? Or maybe that's what you were referring to? If so, I think I've resolved that issue.
As for the channel bg, that's how it was drawn. I had no control over that. But out of curiosity, what color would you suggest?
anyway, I'd just like to thank you for taking the time to review my video. This was really helpful. I'm hoping maybe I can come back to you again and ask for another review in the future (with a reasonable amount of time in between, of course, ahha). Anyway, thanks man!
