I got into RPM :D but was it a bad idea????

hey guys just made this post to say that i got into RPM but I want to know was it a good decision?? Bare in mind that my new channel is fairly new :D
Bad decision bro, they have such low standards that is nothing now. It's like saying you're partnered with Awesomeness TV

If you had over 1k subs and you were growing very very quickly, It was the wrong move. BUT!

You are new and just beginning so really it was a neutral move. Rpm lately seems to be going nuts by just accepting anyone who applies so it gets annoying for its already contracted partners...

So here are the perks:
1. You get music licensing without royalties! (also sound effects... that's a awesome sweet deal considering Its hard to find them in the first place)
2. You get some money.... probably pennies a year, but hey...
3. You get a banner (unless you switched to the new layout... which everyone gets).

See getting a network doesn't actually grow your channels views or subs. It just gives you a good forum, and other tools to help. Really I wouldn't even suggest joining a network until you start getting bigger any ways. Since now you will have commercials on your videos, and your subs and possible subs might find it annoying that someone who just started already has commercials.

But really commercials are your only con. So it was a move.... Not really forward not really backwards but more to the side ya know?

Don't fret :D Just keep making vids and enjoy your channels growth.[DOUBLEPOST=1365629143,1365629024][/DOUBLEPOST]
To be fair, any adults who sign up should be mature enough to read.

Any KIDS who sign up should have parents monitoring their internet use anyway, so.... yeah. :)

In america you can't be held under a contract if you are under the age of 18 (it might be 16... i'm not sure), So really.. his contract means jack squat in court cause his parents did not approve of it. they would have to sign the contract ha ha. But it might be different for internet contracts :/ I haven't looked up on those a lot.

Ya know with posts like this, you might end up with a 2:1 likes to posts ratio.

Yes it is very bad. Mate, signing with RPM at your subs is like signing a death sentence with your account attached to it. Read the giant RPM thread about this.

Signing with any network for 2 years is a bad deal, especially at 50% gross.

Lets say in a years time, you have 5k subs and get ~10k views daily so that`s maybe ~15$ daily before split. You`re only going to get 7.50$ out of that for the next year because you rushed into a crappy contract to quickly.

Honestly, as long as you don't care about the money (which you shouldn't so early in this stage) it was a good idea because they can 'claim' your videos as their own (which prevents copyright shtick) IMO.

yh i dont care about the money at the moment tobe honest. and back when i had my old channel like 2 years ago RPM used to actually be good but now awesomenesstv is around it has dropped their standards to much but oh well

I don't see how it could be a bad decision, aside from the fact that you're locked in with the contract and can't go anywhere else. They won't force you to hold up a quota though, so you can call it quits if you want to. Just ask yourself these kinds of questions before signing a contract next time. Other contracts won't be so forgiving.
