How to [Politely] Ask People to Check Out Your Channel?

JakeBollingYT

I've Got It
Hello fabulous people!
Recently, I've been finding a lot of smaller YouTubers, and I'm glad to watch their videos, often I find I really enjoy them, and end up subscribing. I like to leave nice comments too cuz why not spread positivity? But I've been wondering, how do I ask them to check out my own channel? Like I'm fine if they don't want to, I love spreading positivity and nice words regardless, but like I also want to ask them to watch my videos without seeming too forward or as if I had an agenda, if that makes any sense tho, sorry .
Anyways, thanks for any suggestions you can give! If you want me to check out your channel I'd be glad to give you my opinion! Thank youuu!!
.

I think that leaving a nice comment is enough. If they are curious about Your channel they will probably check You out anyway. That's what I do. Maybe I'm nosy but I'm always interested in getting to know people who visit my channel.

Just leave a nice comment it can go one of two ways.

1. They tell you to get stuffed and don't check it out so its no loss anyway
2. Like you they watch it and love it.

I am about to start a new Twitter push asking people more directly to watch. It will ether make people that arent watching anyway not watch or it will make them watch so really its only a situation I can win in

Check out my channel and live, or don't and die.

Pretty straight forward really, and attracts a lot of new people to your channel, it has worked greatly for me.

Best of luck.

I can only go from my own experience, when people do this to my videos.

There's a few different comments and they were all flagged as spam from the viewers.
I'll give some examples (all real comments):

"Hi, my name is Sarah and I lovedyour video! Keep up the great work and if you get a chance, stop by my channel and check out my videos. I recently started a gaming channel and I would like to get some feedback. Thanks ^_^"
(would have been polite and okay apart from the fact that she copied and pasted it on quite a few vids)

"hey what's up, I just subbed!! I hope you get to 100,000 subscribers soon! .. but If you want to laugh check out my videos. I wont disappoint. :)"

"Love your videos please check mine out let me know what you think"

"Check out my pokemon videos you're gonna love em!"
and same video same guy again with: "come check me out, you're gonna love me!"

"i do fan animations please check it out and thx"

"Subscribe me plzz and comment what kind of challeng should I do thx"

You can imagine that a thousand more of these in a day (which the really popular tubers will get) comes of as really annoying and makes the person look like all the other spammers.

If you want to be polite about it, bear in mind you must spend most of your comment talking on subject about the video or the channel etc. THEN also mention you do the same, you've tried that game, your planning to do a video on the same subject, you had a similar experience etc. don't mention the key spam phraises like "check me out" "watch my vids" and never ask for a subscribe.

Probably the most polite comment I've recieved had me check out their channel and follow them just by being polite:

"I admire your videos. I love that you take your time with them and that they aren't unnecessarily crude (which is to say the videos are good on their own without having to resort to shocking imagery). Something I find really remarkable is the sound quality. Do you get people to voice act and make the tunes for these videos or how exactly do you go about it? Thank you for your time +Lightsen :)"

and then once I replied, they responded with:

"+Lightsen I humongously appreciate your reply. It helps to get perspective on how other people work asI want to be an Animator myself. Again, thank you."

that part I put in bold got me interested in their channel, their future vids, and everything, without them asking anything of me.

and so now I'm following them on twitter to see what they make for the future.

And in my opinion, that has to be the most polite way of doing it in the history of youtube.

Hope this helps, or at least gives my personal perspective on it :)

Leaving a clever comment is already a good starting point. Also, mentioning that you do similar content to them but WITHOUT stating explicitely "Hey Take a look at my videos", is a good thing. For instance, if it's a gameplay video, very common, leave a thought on the video mentioning that you recorded stuff from it as well. something like "While I was recording a video of it, it didn't happen to me!". Also, when people ask for thoughts on their video, an the video's style is similar to yours, mention that you make content similar to theirs, and leave your thoughts. They are quite likely to take a look at your stuff

you said everything I wanted to in a million less words, I could have saved so much time lol

I would never use the wording "check out my channel" ever. You have to mention it subtly.

For example: "Liked because I know all your videos are amazing. I can't watch it right now because I have to do my own video first so I have all the first impressions before watching this one. I'll watch this one tonight!"

You are complimenting the youtuber for his consistent amazing videos and also giving them the promise that you will be sure to check out their video after you finish your video. This shows that you are a Youtuber as well, this might make a person click on your channel without the whole self promotion hatred.

how do I ask them to check out my own channel?.

The simple answer to that question is: You don't.

You "invite" people by leaving good comments that are liked by others. I am quite sure I got a bunch of subscribers from comments I have made on other people's videos.

Never write "Check out my channel" because that is blatant self advertising and that is frowned upon. It is one of the reasons why PewDieWhatever got rid of comments. Everyone was just advertising in the comment section below the video. I will delete any spam that ends up in my spam box, and if one somehow makes it trough I tend to delete that comment too.
