How To Make The Best Gaming Montages?

So I am going to start making gaming montages on a seperate channel and I felt as if my previous efforts were lacking. So what exactly does it take to make the best channel montage?

A lot of effort, good transitions, cool masking effects, the list just goes on. I would say just practice, i made a montage almost a year ago to teach myself sony vegas, got a ton of good feedback on it, six months later i looked back and saw garbage, so i made an even better one. Now today im working on a 3rd one that will hopefully be even better. This stuff comes with lots of practice.
