In the first episode in my series I talk about how to promote your YouTube channel using contests and promotions.

I focus on creating a viral contest using social media outlets like Facbook and Twitter. The idea behind a viral contest is to bring a large amount of targeted subscribers that come for your contest but stay for your content!

 
Doesn't this just get you a lot of people who aren't necessarily there because they enjoy your content though? To me I'm put off by contests that involve asking to sub/like etc. purely because it isn't your content that's earned that positive feedback. But that's just my opinion.
 
Thats why you need quality content first:) In the video I suggest asking the viewer to re tweet or share not like/sub
