Hey! This probably isn't the answer you want, but I personally feel the opposite in a way, it kind of takes the fun out once I start thinking about people watching. I mean of course it's cool when people watch my videos, but when I'm making them that's not what I'm thinking about. And since everybody starts with zero subscribers, I think it's important to not worry too much about views.
Anyway! There are some things that you can do, and most of them are outlined in stickied posts in this thread actually. But for your channel I'd recommend posting to reddit, you can get an easy jump in views there! I also really like the subreddit r/youtubers, they give great advice on your videos.
